remote start, 2002 lexus es300

I've installed a few remote starters in the past and am having problems with the dei 555x immobiler on a 2002 Lexus ES300. The remote starter starts the car w/ the key in the ignition so then I proceed to the immobilizer. Wire it up, reinstall the battery, put the black key in, and remote start and the LED doesn't flash like it's supposed to when it learns. Instead, the LED doesn't come on at all. The next remote start (and after) it starts flashing when activated. Verified that I'm using the black master key. One thing I noticed was the thing was a returned unit so it looked like it was possibly installed, and possibly learned another key!? Just wondering if this could be happening. Q: 1) What does it mean when the thing just blinks on/off? 2) If the unit did learn a previous key, can it be cleared to relearn a new one? 3) The 555x instructions show example cars, one of which is mine. The colors match fine but there is no wire color listed for the "key sense" Does this mean I just leave the key sense open (not connected to anything)?

That is the reason why it is not programming. The key sense wire is needed. After it is connected it will also work as a factory alarm disarm too. Find that wire and the issue should be solved.

I'm just about done but can't find the "blue" key sense wire. Anyone know where it is exactly? I checked the 7 plug where most of the immobilizer clock/data/sync were found but no blue wire and nothing went to ground when the key was inserted.The thick harness (starter/+12/ignition/ 8?pin) didn't have a solid blue but I didn't look to see if anything went to ground when key was inserted.Thanks in advance.

Sweet. That was it. Thanks. If anyone needs it, I found the blue keysense wire just behind the thick ignition harness. It was in a 2 pin connector. Another hurdle... I hooked up the tach wire and it learned the tach (i think). Then I go to program the unit to put it tach mode but for the life of me I can't get it into program mode. When I try, instead of flashing the X amount of times for the feature I want, it flashes once, then twice, then stays off. I did some searching... is this the blink code for bitwriter lockout? This is getting to be a pain.... This is an Avital 4103.

The tach setting on the brain automatically changes to tach mode when you program it. To program you need to do the following 1- Connect your tach wire(PURPLE / white) to your tach source. 2- Turn on the car. 3- While the car is on you need to hold the valet button. 4- The LED should turn on solid and you are all set. No need to go in the menu to activate tach mode after that.

Do you remenber where you found the accessory wire? I am having trouble locating it on the same car I am working on.

acc wire should be in the same loom as the ign and start wires. make sure youtest to ensure the wires are correct.

And the CORRECT tach wire is a black with silver dots on the OBD ll socket.
