RELEASE SWITCH IN DASH

Yes you will need a relay. Wire it as follows.

Terminal 85 connects to the output wire of your alarm.
Terminals 86 and 30 connect to a constant power source.  Fused at 10 amps.
Terminal 87 connects to the brown wire at the release switch.

Ok now I'm having a bigger problem, NOW I hooked the relay up how you said to hook it up and it didn't work so I thought I needed to program my remote for some odd reason (my first remote is the one with the screen). and now I can't remote start my car it tries but it stops too soon to start it and my doors won't lock or unlock, please help me even with my second remote, but on my second remote I can arm and disarm (but still can't unlock or lock it) it but on my first remote I can only arm it, it won't disarm, if the alarm goes off I have to press the arm button again to stop it.

Just re-program the remotes, STEPS-

1) open door

2) Turn ignition on

3) press and release valet switch twice holding on second press, wait for a single chirp from the siren, then press lock button on remote! A long chirp indicates success!

Where did you get power for the relay?  Have you checked for blown fuses in the vehicles fuse boxes?  Did you fuse the power wire for the relay?

i didnt think to check for blown fuse in the box but i checked the fuses associated with the viper because i went off of the wires connected to the door lock relays for power but the locks was still working fine until i started messing with the valet button, and i also accidentally followed the process to program the viper with the computer thing (bitwriter) if that can help you help me in anyway, i was pressing button could it have anything to do with this?                 < lang=JA size=2 face=AdobePiStd>< lang=JA size=2 face=AdobePiStd>

Channels Two through Nine are used to assign the arm, disarm and panic functions

to separate buttons on the remote control. Teaching a button to Channel Two erases all information about

that remote from memory. Any auxiliary functions that are desired will have to be reprogrammed. Similarly, if the

remote is set up to use the separate arm, disarm and panic channels and a button from that remote is entered

into Channel Two, the remote will be erased from memory, and the system will only recognize the button that

was entered into Channel Two.

I forgot to mention if I start thr truck using the key, if I press the star button two times to take my keys with me the lights will blink but the doors won't unlock and when I turn the ignition of the truck cuts off but t seems like its on (meaning the lights are on and if I try to put the keys back in to start it, it won't as if the anti grind mode is on so I have to press the brake to shut it of and then start it
