i recently installed remote keyless entry and know i want to use the lock and unlock 12v  signals thru diodes to have my indicator lights flash.

al i need is the hazard light wire colours and where to find or if anyone has better idea of achieving this.

Howie, most of the units in the U.S. only have a parking light output, and don't flash the turn signals/hazards without some custom labor.
Pretty dumb, because in the daytime you can hardly see the parking lights. Hondas do this too as OEM.
ausnovice, I don't know the wire color, but maybe you can test all the wires coming down the steering column while turning the hazard switch on and off.

AS sorry but I've already answered this because you also wrongly posted this twice! Chris the parking light output becomes the indicator output in Europe by either adding a relay if the output is less than 10amps. Adding a relay with a 20amp constant fuse, then adding a pair of 1N5004 diodes with the bands to the indicators. In practice, I've never had to use a relay with either a Viper or Hornet key less or alarm unit from DEI (US) or Cobra (Italy). As I said before but modified, I've never seen one of these units without either parking light OR indicator flash. If definitely no parking light output here's what you do.
This is the basic circuit. Lock trigger wire (assume neg going on the Explorer. Branch wire from here with an in line 1N4004 diode, band away from the relay to relay 85, 86 and 87, 15amp constant 12volts, then 30 via the 2 x 1N5004 diodes to each side. Same with unlock. Again this time a branch from the unlock trigger wire, again in line 1N4004 diode, band away from relay, join to same relay after the other diode.
Now here's where it gets sophisticated!
Go to the relay section on this site and look at double pulse unlocking. Insert that extra relay on the lock side and that will give you 2 pulses for lock and 1 for unlock.
Again please check to see if this Steelmate has a light output of some kind.
Might I suggest going to the rear light fittings it's easier than the steering column and testing for your indicator wires there, then picking them up in one of the kickwells.

Just been on the web to an Oz forum, apparently Steel mate uses a purple wire for parking light output. Can you confirm this is so? Or post up the wiring diagramme or list the colours?

no purple wires exist.

i have 5 wires to driver door actuator, black(ground),blue, green, which loop to all actuators and brown, white for master only.

i have no idea what the brown and white wire is for.

cheers

What are the other colours, brown and white are the lock unlock triggers, see one of my previous posts. What are your other wires, e.g. power and ground, you've only covered the lock outputs, not what I asked.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
