I am installing a VALET 561T into a 2009 Ford Flex.
Everything went well. All the wires were easy to reach and everything is soldered correctly.
When I started to test the install:
I cannot get the LED on the module to light. I need it to check the diagnostics for the second problem:
When triggered, the remote starter powers auxillaries (interior lights, power seats...) and clicks can be heard , and power is supplied to the starter circuit for a very short time. It then must realize it hadn't started, because it tries again a few times....

Have you connected the tach wire? If the led is not illuminating you have an invalid tach signal!

I thought:
"When using voltage sense mode, connection of the H2/5 VIOLET/ WHITE tachometer input is not necessary"

It isn't! I forgot that unit had voltage mode, the units we received were void of the remotes so when i installed these i had no choice but to connect a tach wire, because i had no remote to switch the programming to voltage! LOL! Do you have any type of bypass installed?

I am just adding it to a Ford Flex, and it doesn't come with a remote either.. I was hoping to use the momentary switch to change it to voltage (But I cannot get the LED to light...)
It sounds like I will need to attach it to the tach (like you said originally)
I cannot find any info on a tach wire in the dash...
Any pointers?

You need the remote to switch to voltage so i think you're gonna have to do tach! I'll check for info on the vehicle for ya and post back!

No info on this site sorry! Just curious, if you don't have a remote what are you triggering the start sequence with?

I am using the factory alarm remote. (Hit "lock X2", and triggers starting sequence)

Do I need a 555F PATS Ford Transponder Kit?
Would this give the "just a click, no start" symptom?

If you have a transponder you would need a bypass, can't say what specific type though!
