compustar pro cycling door locks

I was directed here from another forum for some information on a remote starter problem.  Looks like there is a ton of info here, and I did a quick search for my problem but did not find much info.  I'm also not quite sure what to search for.  A couple years ago, I had the followng CompuStar remote starter installed in my 2002 Ford Explorer XLS.  http://www.compustar.com/products/pro/RF-P1WG3-SH.html

Unfortunately, I accidentally sent one of the remotes through the washing machine at least once or twice, and through the dryer at least 5 or 6 times. It seems to be around this time my problems started. If I use the remote to unlock the doors, I hear the unit cycle about every 10 seconds, and after 30 seconds the doors re-lock. If I stop at a gas station and hit the start button to activate it so I can remove my key and leave it running while inside, the same thing happens. Every 10 seconds, I hear the box cycle on and off, the parking lights flash and in 30 seconds the doors re-lock.  The other day I was playing with this to get the timing down and I noticed something else odd.  I started the truck with the key, then hit the button on the remote, removed the key and left it running.  10 seconds later, CLICK ... CLICK.  20 seconds, CLICK ... CLICK.  30 seconds CLICK ... CLICK and doors lock.  When I went to put the key back in the ignition, just as the key started to go in I could hear the box clicking and when I removed the key I heard it again.  This unit has the ignition controlled locks, but they have never been set up and the locks have never worked with the ignition (quite frankly I dont want them to either). 

I'm fairly certain this has nothing to do with the old washed remote itself as that has been thrown away and long gone for a while now.  While it was being washed, could something have shorted out and sent some kind of a programming signal to the box in the truck?  CompuStar recommended re-programming the remote three times.  I tried that with no success.  Anyone have any ideas?
