So, I started the install last night. Viper 5301, XK02 for door locks and alarms, and I can't seem to find the plug they are talking about in the install guide for the data wire that it requires for the door locks.

Also, I was looking through the install manual and I'm not sure if I need the light flash connection. The second wire on the main harness. Thanks

the plug you want is at the ignition barrel. it is a long white plug. you should be able to get it at the OBD connector as well.

you will need the parking light output.

Well, I already did the parking light output, but there is another wire that says "Light Flash - Isolation Wire - Pin 87 of onboard relay" There is nothing in the DEI wiring printout about it though.

Also, the install guide that came with the XK02 says the wire is in 20 pin harness on a female connector, located from driver door, wire side of fuse box. Do I still need to look in steering column?

you do not need the light flash isolation wire. this is only required on some cars. this vechicle doesnt need it. tape it up.

i dont pesonally use any DEI bypass modules often so i dont know them that well. If it says to wire at the 20pin, you will still need to make your data connections. the bypass portion will still need to be connected at the ignition cylinder.

Ok, the only thing the XK02 does is the door locks and factory disarm. I have another bypass for the immobilizer.

One other thing, the last RS I installed, I seem to remember cutting a wire in the ignition harness and splicing two of the alarm wires into each side of the harness. The install guide of the one I'm installing now doesn't say anything about doing this. Is this a new feature?

Go to the driver's fuse box, and look at the top edge, where you should see, if I remember correctly, two plugs side by side.

Next, reach into the door jamb, grab the rubber boot (the boot where the wires pass between the door and the car body), and wiggle the boot around.

The corresponding wires inside the car will wiggle too, and then you should know where to go.

I think the doorlock data wire is in the plug that's to your left as you're looking at the fuse box.

5301 is just a 2way system with remote start and keyless. I believe the situation your describing is cutting the starter wire for start kill/anti grind. You don't need to do it but you could by wiring in a relay

Ok, so I have pulled every plug in or around the fuse box. There are two of them that are 20 pin plugs and have the brown wire in the 15th position, like the instructions say. One of them comes from the door and the other I don't know. Naturally I want to go with the one coming from door, but wanted to get an opinion. The main thing is the instructions show certain pins missing, but it doesn't correspond with what I'm seeing.
