Installed Astra 4000RS on my brothers 09 Vue with Xpresskit PKUMUX. The starter wire from alarm is only connected to bypass unit not to vehicles wire because the wire by the ignition is not to be used. If I start the car with keys and turn off I can remotely start the vehicle with the keys out, if I try to start vehicle from outside it will not start. Does the starter wire need to be connected, where is this wire located, what color? Everything on alarm works fine except the remote start. I did program the bypass unit when it was installed and vehicle has no problem starting with keys.

Follow the Type "D" Install diagram.  The remote starters (+) Starter Output only connects to the PKUMUX.

Not sure I unserstand the problem.  Did you mean that the remote starter only works when you leave the ignition key in the cylinder but not turned?

Soldering is fun!

Just tried today again, when I start the vehicle with the keys then turn off and keys on hand I can remote start once. Today I started the vehicle from outside but it turned off in seconds.

ive had similar issues with the PKUMUX. make sure the main harnessis fully plugged in. they tend to be pretty tight and go in a little crooked and cause this kind of issue.

Good info from blanx218.  As a double check here is wiring info...

These are the connections you need for remote start.  Did not include connections for door locks, triggers, alarms

and trunk, etc.
