2004 mazda 6 bypass

Hello im trying to get my wifes car starter working again for X-mas and i know im close but it still wont start and im running out of time !!!! She has a 2004 mazda 6 v6 5speed and it has a cm4200 comustar starter with a xk04 bypass module. Now we lost the keys and remote for the car two years ago and i took it into the dealership and had 2 new keys made and the car starter has not worked since! So she wants a new remote starter so i figured i can get this one working again! I bought 2 new remotes and have programmed them and they unlock,lock,pop the trunk, i set it into reservation mode and go to remote start it and it just cranks with no start!!!! Now i leave the key off but in the ignition it starts!!! So im guessing bypass module? Ive tried the 1st key on then off second key on then off but im lost in the instructions where it says to do some thing diffrent for manual trans cars ??? The local installer wants over $100 to fix this problem but im sure in close????? any help would be awesome!!!!

There are two possibilities of firmware loaded on the XK04, PKF3 or PKFord.  Programming for either is pretty much the same but there is a slightly different routine for your manual trans.  Here is alink to XPressKits for the XK04  :  http://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=344

Download both PKF3 and PKFord install guides.  Do the Reset procedure first, then try the programming.  Remember to wait a few minutes after a successful programming to do a test remote start.

Thanks for the reply! I have downloaded both the install and your right programming looks the same. Now where i think im messing up is the last part of the programming. Do i ground out the brown wire from the xk04 while i do the first 2 steps ( key cycles? ) and it also says power up the ignition with a jumper wire? do i run 12v to the orange wire while doing the programming steps? (should i just tap into the orange ignition wire from the module with 12v?)

also i dont have any connections to update this through my computer can or should i take it out and bring it into a installer to update firmware?

I don't think updating the firmware is necessary.  If it worked before, it should be usable.

I haven't used an XK04 for years and never did a manual trans with one.  Going by the install guide, it looks like you apply ground to the Brown GWR wire at the same time you apply +12V to the vehicles Blue Ignition wire ( at Step 3 ).  There is a time window this has to be accomplished in, too.

So should I ground the brown and power the blue before I start doing the key cycles or do I do step 1 and 2 ( key cycles ) then quickly ground and power the blue after the first two steps ???? I just want to be sure so I don't fry or burn out something!!! Lol

Do Steps 1 & 2 first, then ground the Brown and apply +12V to vehicles ignition.  Basically you are adding another valid transponder code to the vehicles computer.  Each time to turn a key to ON, it is applying +12V to the Ignition wire. (  I use a jumper wire with alligator clips on each end and a fuse in the middle.)Soldering is fun!
