I am about to install a commando fm760 remote start alarm. Can anyone tell me if i remote start the car, do i have to stop the engine before i drive , or do i have to put the key into the ignition, only?

If i do not have to stop the engine, can i put a switch on the ignition wire, so the alarm thinks the key is in the ignition, so i can drive the car without the key?

Thanks!

there is a problem, as soon as you hot the brake pedal the remote starter is going to shut off and the car will stop, also there is the problem with the shifter, on most cars the key has to be on in order to get out of park, so basically you need to have the key in and turned on anyway.

And don't forget that the steering wheel will lock without the key.
