Parking Light Wiring, 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander

2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS - Compustar CM6200 controller(starter only)
I want to tie in the parking lights. The wiring diagram I found on this site says:
Parking Lights (-)     (LIN data bus)
Parking Lights (+)     yellow (L), brown (R)     +     fuse box, white 20 pin plug, pins 10 and 13
The CompuStar has a GREEN / WHITE wire off the main harness labelled 12V parking lights. I'm assuming I would tie in both the yellow(L) and brown(R) to the GREEN / WHITE wire and not worry about the negative wire labeled LIN data bus?

Yes, you can't use the LIN Bus.  Here is one way to wire the Outlanders Parking Lights.

Locate and verify the Outlanders two (+) Parking Light wires / circuits ( Left & Right ).

The CM6200 GREEN / WHITE (+) Parking Light wire from CN1-6 can supply 10 Amps.  It would probably

be a good idea to test the current draw of each of the circuits ( Left & Right ) with a DMM to verify it
does not exceed 5 Amps.

If the Outlanders Parking Light wires are of thin gauge and do not draw more than 5 Amps each, you

can use two 6 Amp diodes to split and isolate the CM6200's (+) Parking Light output between the two
circuits, with the diodes bands facing away from the CM6200. 

If the current draw of one side Parking Light circuit is more than 5 but less than 10 Amps, connect

the CM6200 (+) GREEN / WHITE Parking Light wire to only one side.  Then, wire a relay using the CM6200's
GREEN / WHITE (-) Parking Light wire from CN3-3 to supply the necessary signal to the Outlanders other
side Parking Light circuit.  Relay ( 30/40 Amp SPDT ) wiring below :
Relay Pin 85 to CM6200 CN3-3 GREEN / WHITE (-) 250mA Parking Light output
Relay Pin 86 and 87 to +12 Volts constant fused at 10 Amps
Relay Pin 30 to Outlander Parking Light circuit ( Right or Left )
Relay Pin 87A - not used - insulate

It the current draw is more than 10 Amps on each side, use two relays.  Up the fuse in the above

circuit to 20 Amps and wire another relay using the CM6200 (+) Parking Light output to control the
second relay and parking light circuit as below.
Relay Pin 86 to CM6200 CN1-6 GREEN / WHITE (+) Parking Light output
Relay Pin 85 to Chassis Ground
Relay Pin 87 to +12V constant fused at 20 Amps
Relay Pin 30 to to Outlander Parking Light circuit ( Right or Left )
Relay Pin 87A - not used - insulate

Actually Kregg, as you know, everywhere bar North America uses amber front and rear lights as indicators.
2 x 21 watt, + 1 X 10 watt side or mirror marker. = 52 watts, add for corrosion resistance, distance = 5 amps per side.
The English DEI and Code importers give us two x 1N5404 and these are adequate although only rated at 3 amps.

Thanks for the detailed reply. If both Outlander left and right wires draw less than 5 amps each, can I not simply tie the two together and connect them to the CM6200 (+) GREEN / WHITE Parking Light? Not sure I understand why I need two inline diodes.

If the right and left are separated for turn signal purposes and you connect them both to the same CM6200 (+) Parking Light wire, when you turn on the turn signal ( either direction ) you will get both sides blinking ( like the Hazards are on ).  Six Amp diodes are available at various online sites and through the WEB at RadioShack.

Ahh that makes sense! Any reason why I would use a 6amp diode vs a 5amp diode? I appreciate your patience, some of this stuff is new to me.

Either will work, but 6 Amp diodes are more common / available.  If you have or can easily obtain 5 Amp diodes, use them as they better match the CM6200's rated Parking Light output.
