I just installed a 5704 in a 2008 mazda 3 and the 2-way works fine when the car is just sitting there. But, after you remote start it a couple of things happen. the brain will respond by locking and unlocking the doors maybe 7 or 8 times out of 10 and the 2-way confirmation will only work 2 times out of 10. I tried a another antenna, antenna wire and brain and remotes. Its mounted under the drivers dash but this cars bcm is behind the glove box. I also moved the ground wire. Any thoughts??? I need some help on this one...
Also, I zapped the unit erasing the transmitters, but I only know the process it repair the 2-way remote. How do I reprogram the 1-way sidekick remote?
Thanks,
Frank

Try it with the blower motor at different speeds/off. Sometimes the blower motor will emit rf frequencies that can mess with the transmitters.

I tried to copy and paste and it was a bloody mess, wait 10 minutes, I'll download the install guide to the Downloads/Manuals section, go to page 10.

Look in car alarm manuals.

beegbie, Thanks, I actually didn't even have the blower motor on. I had gone to turn off the radio and had turned off the fan by mistake and never turned it back on...lol
Any other ideas, this one had me stumped. I'll be seeing the car again today.
Howie, thanks for the manual. The info I needed to program the 1-way was in there.

Its something with the car... I installed the same unit(one of which I used as a complete swap out) in 2 other cars and no problems.... I just could not fix the problem on this Mazda 3. Very weird, I've never experienced this before.
