Hi,
i´m going to install a Python 5706p with remote start in my 2007 Dodge RAM (no factory alarm but power locks and power windows). I read lots of stuff on how to get the remote start work but i´m not satisfied with what i found :(. But let´s start at the beginning:
I bought a Python 5706p w/ remote start, a DBALL2 bypassmodule and, as told from a guy at xpresskit.com, a XL202 module (don´t know if i really need this thing).
I know i have to flash the DBALL2 with the right firmware and that the whole thing can be used D2D with the Python. In this case i have only 3 or 4 wires to connect to the DBALL2 and 1 from the remote start wire conector from the python. i hope i´m right with that?
i´m not sure in wiring up the alarm section. which parts are really needed. Ok, the main harness should be wired. but what´s about the Door Lock ´3-pin connector? Must i use the connector? or does the DBALL2 asummes the function?
Which wires are usefull or needed from the 24-pin (aux/shoutdown/trigger) harness?
I don´t need any auxillary options at the moment, only the remote start and the "basic" alarm should work :) i know if i´m going to install any aux-options i should use a relay.
i hope someone can help me,because i have to do the install by myself.
thanks
and greetings from Germany
Oli

Go to Xpresskit enter your Make, model and year, that will give you your options, go to DB-ALL2 installation notes that will give you the correct wiring diagram.
Last year I did a 5704 with a DB-ALL on a Jeep Liberty (Cherokee), didn't need an XL202.
The DB-ALL2 does locks etc., if I remember not lights (went to Haz switch), this is Europe after all unless yours is a US spec.
So don't worry about "not sure about the wiring" just follow the diagram.

Juts looked at the diagram, 7 wires on the DB-ALL, 5 on the Python.
And no XL202.
Please make sure the DB-ALL2 is correctly flashed, the nearest place to do it if not is here in the UK.

it´s a us spec. i think
i have a XKloader2 for flashing the DBALL2..
i also looked at the DBALL diagram, should be page 11 istallation type 3c (w/o T-harness)??
the DBALL diagramm is understandable for me but not the one for the python...
which 5 wires are needed at the python?? when i look at the diagram i only see ??? at the paper :D there are so many wires...

The diagram explains which wires.
If you aren't sure from that simple diagram don't attempt it yourself.
You've already purchased an XK202 which you won't need.

yes you´re right.. it is a simple diagram. I only wanted to know if i need any other wire form the harnesses as listed above... door locks or what ever...
but when i didn´t need them it should be a piece of cake to install the whole thing...
today i flashed the dball2 successfully with the xkloader2
at the weekend i´m going to install the python.

so i did the install today..
alarm works great but only the remote start doesn´t work. The ignition came up 3 times but it won´t crank. After that the ignition turns off.
The LC3 Remote shows at the beginning "remote start run" and after the last iginition turn "remote start error"
I did the shutdown at the control center and it says "Low batterie" but i have a fully loaded one in the car.
The DBALL2 is flsshed with the "402.chrysler 5.06.01 Firmware..
All wires are double checked....
any ideas were i should search???
the car starts with my key without any issues...

Did you learn and program for tach?
Have you programmed for auto if it is?

yes i programed it in auto (was the first thing the parking lights showed me)
I started with virtual tach.. it doesn´t start
so i wired the tach signal to the DBALL2 from the python and did the leaning process.. no crank. The ignition turns on for exept 1 sec. and then turns of. starts again and turns of again.
