Hi guys, first post here. Got this Avital 5303 hooked up on my 1998 Chevy Silverado and everything is working fine except the door locks. The two door lock wires (blue and green) are sending a 5 volt pulse when using the buttons on the Avital fob. Is this normal? Also, I understand since my truck came with factory keyless entry and power door locks it would be a type A configuration?

Your factory door locks need to see 12 volts at the end so you need to connect 2 relays you can find the wiring diagram here on the forum or maybe idk if the trucks has factory door lock relays you can use them. When I install a avital 5103 I used the A wiring shown here but I install aftermarket actuators.

Yes, this truck had factory keyless entry and power door locks. I've tried the 2 relay hookup and tried the 451m kit from directed. I'm mainly wondering why there would be 5 volts coming from the 2 lock wires.

Perhaps I can offer something you can use.
The lt blu wire at a door lock switch is LOCK.
The white wire at a door lock switch is UN Lock.
These wires are small gauge. They are control wires to the Silverado's relays. They are not current-carrying wires to the lock motors. Use the 5303 to trigger the on-board relays. Very simple, very easy. Just find the right wires at either front door kick panel.
Either wire requires a 12V (+) pulse to activate.
Connect 5303 lt blue to Silverado lt blue.
Connect 5303 green to Silverado white.
No additional relays required.
