I am trying to switch over from DEI products, so my latest install was an Excalibur rs260edp one button starter in a 2014 Toyota Camry with 80 bit key. I placed the antenna behind the rear view mirror and put fresh batteries in the fobs.
This unit has HORRIBLE range, probably less than 70 feet direct line of sight. Is this typical of Excalibur? The avital one buttons I used to use had quadruple that range. Any ideas?

I have done a few installs on the excalibur units. Easy to install/program.
The antenna cable lacks build quality. Check to see if any wires are frayed on the connector ends. I've repaired a few new out of the box.
Check your ground as well. Bare metal and a factory bolt preferred. A bad ground can cause crap range.

Thanks for the tips!
I reprogrammed the transmitters and that SEEMS to have resolved the problems.
I assumed they came programmed out of the box, because initially they worked intermittantly without me programming them.
