Firstech sent me a replacement Dronemobile cellular module under warranty. Do I need a factory installer to activate this thing, or can I just plug it in, and register it on their website to get the iphone ap to work (start the car, lock doors, etc)?

You should be able to just plug it in and register it on your account. The setup is extremely simple.

OK, the new Drone module arrived, and I read the instructions. It seems you're correct, that some website registration, and logging into the AP is all that is needed. But last night, the old drone made a connection and worked for the first time in who knows how long. I wonder if they put the unit in a bad reception area under the car. I think Firstech would have been smarter to design around a much longer antenna wire with a remote antenna than to place the entire cell module at the end of a medium-long serial cable.
