Recently had an issue with a 2013 Ford E150 (econoline commercial van) installed just a basic alarm system no keyless. Its what most commercial van owners want in this area..I don't get it. Anyways, I tapped into the door pins at the BCM and it had false triggers every 20 minutes. Ok, so I followed the guide for double diode isolation and this setup prevented the BCM from going to sleep properly. I guess it pulses the door pins and if it sees no response it will not go to sleep thus draining the battery.

I ended up installing my own door pins and putting the BCM back to stock (no diodes).

All wiring was tested using the proper volt meter tests, and the alarm worked correctly, but it either false triggered or would not allow the BCM to go to sleep.

These contractors do not like using the domelight for trigger because of the delay when locking.

Am I adding door pins from now on or did I miss something?

Sorry to ask what's probably a dumb question but did you take NC door triggers and 1076 into account?

Yes sir. However about half of these fords(mazdas etc) that say they are open trigger are actually negative trigger. It shows ground when opened and positive or pulsing when closed.

1076 should work. On newer Fords when the SJB falls asleep after about 20 mins or more the voltage on the door trigger wires drops which would explain the false triggers. The SJB falls sleep to conserve battery life. I have used 1076 on a lot of new Fords including E series and haven't had an issue.

I have done many of these Ford vans and have had to diode isolate the door pins and the BCM and the alarms have worked fine. Make sure the diodes are installed correctly.

I assure you the diagram was followed perfectly..and the door pins tested as straight ground..

They will test as negative trigger while the SJB is awake. Leave your meter on the door trigger wire shut the doors and lock it. Let it sit for a while till the SJB falls asleep and you will eventually see the voltage drop. Either diodes were installed wrong or this van has electrical gremlins.
