Viper 5806V W/ GSM350 in a cargo trailer?

Good morning from a car alarm newbie...... I have a Viper 5806 V unit that I would like to install in a cargo trailer. The trailer has a separate, stand alone, 12v supply, using the trailer chasis as ground. I intend to use the hood pin switch on one door and the trunk pin for the rear ramp door as the only alarm inputs. I will also use the included shock sensor. Beyond that I don't intend to use anything else. I am looking for what wires I will need to use of all the harnesses that are included in the box. clearly there are waaaaay more than I need for this application. Here is what I know. Main harness six pin; Red - 12v constant Black - Chasis ground Brown goes to the siren red wire, siren black goes to ground white / brown - Parking light isolation wire - NOT USED White - parking light output to parking lights of trailer Orange - to chasis ground remote start 10 pin harness not used in this application??? Nutural safety switch plugged in to unit and in on position. Control center with led plugged in. Auxiliary, 24 pin harness - Gray - to cargo door pin switch Blue - to ramp pin switch Are there any other wires I need to connect to make this set up work? I know this sounds super basic for most everyone on this forum. I build great homes, but when it comes to the 12v stuff, not so much! Thanks in advance! jason

Don't use the thick plug but use the ignition wire* it's an input for programming and you will also need to ground the green to program though I can't find any reason to need programming! *Use a thin lead with a faston, that's what I use when I bench program them.

OK, here goes.    Using everything as described above and doing what Howie recommended...... Green of the 10 pin connector to ground Pink of the 10 pin connector to 12v+ Any other thoughts? Sorry for the newbie questions! Done a ton of car audio, but nothing with the alarms. Thanks in advance!!!!!jason

Orange in 6-pin is GWA. Do not ground it. Tape it off. Do not permanently ground the green "door trigger" wire, only ground it during programming. You also apply B+ to the pink wire to simulate key on, then off, for programming, or code retrieval. But do not power it permanently. Once you have it programmed, you won't need these wires again. Tape them off. I agree with Howie, the defaults should be fine for your application, other than notification chirps and alarm duration may need to be changed to suite your preference.

You guys have been super helpful. Thank You!!! The alarm is installed and working properly. I have the texts and email alerts working properly through the GSM 350. Super cool!! Next week, I have a bit writer showing up so I can program the AUX 1 to a LATCH to control some exterior LED spot lights on the Aux 1 button. Should be cool. Now I want to install a couple of LED blinking LED lights on the exterior of the trailer to warn of an existing alarm system.   Any ideas on how to install a couple of LED's, short of ordering a separate stand alone system????
