sidewinder 6500esp dead valet switch

Okay here goes: Last year I lost the remote to my Sidewinder 6500 esp.Bought one on ebay, took to BestBuy and tech programmed it for free. Said he was unable to get remote start to work and now same button to lock also unlocks.(Tech no longer there). Bought another remote from ebay thinking I would try and program it. Valet swith does nothing, no chirps, nada. Crawled around under dash and found one of the wires from the switch pulled off. Ordered a switch from, you guessed it, ebay and plugged it in to the same 2 connector blue port. Nada. Checked continuity of switch with a cheap voltmeter. Even with switch depressed, not showing continuity. Bought a bigger switch from auto parts store, continuity checks good with switch depressed. Hooked up to same blue port, nothing. Old remote still locks and unlocks and led flashes. I am at wit's end. Sorry for the long post.Any suggestions appreciated.

My vehicle is a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with auto trans and 5.2 liter V8. Sidewinder installed when truck was 3 months old. Loved it.
