Just wanted to know what is the basic procedure for adding power locks to a car that doesn't have them...I need actuators right? and what else do I need/do?  Oh, I want to add these on before i put an alarm on it...so basically i'm asking as if that would be all i wanted was power locks...

Thanx.

YOU WILL NEED AN ACTUATOR IN EACH DOOR ALONG WITH  WITH TWO RELAYS FOR THE ACTUATORS TO WORK.THEN YOU CAN ADD YOUR OWN SWITCH IN THE DOORS OR YOU CAN USE THE OUTPUTS OF THE ALARM TO TRIGGER THE RELAYS, OR BOTH.GOOD LUCK

FOR THE RELAYS YOU WILL NEED THE STANDARD SPDT RELAY THIS RELAY WILL HAVE 5 PINS YOU CAN GET THEM AT RADIO SHACK OR ELECTRONICS PARTS STORE.

PIN 86/87 ON BOTH RELAYS WILL GET 12 VOLTS POSITIVE ON THESE PINS

PIN 87A WILL GET GROUND ON BOTH RELAYS

PIN 30 WILL BE YOUYR OUTPUT TO THE ACTUATORS

PIN 85 WILL BE YOUR OUTPUT FROM THE ALARM THIS WILL BE A NEGATIVE OUTPUT ONE IS FOR THE LOCK RELAY THE OTHER WILL BE THE UNLOCK

THATS ABOUT IT GOOD LUCK

You can also try buying the OEM system from an auto recycler. The fit and finish will be better, and easier to install....it's all bolt-in/plug-in.

thats a good price being actuators are about 15 to 20 dollars a piece. Not including relays that sounds like something to definitelly look into.
