I removed my compustar 1WFM and installed a Mannix sm700 thought i would give one a try, install manual isn't the best have it all wired on a 93 mustang 5.0 manual shift, I have the tach wired to the tan coming off the coil which worked fine with compustar remote start but having trouble with mannix remote start in reservation mode just get three chirps from alarm, I removed the sw/1 jumper and started it like an auto trans car and it grinds the starter and dies out, also this unit locks the doors the first time you press on the brake for safty but that feature doesn't seem to work unless i rev up the engine then it senses the brake being pushed ,

 thanks for any help,

Use the injector wire ( uncommon color ) for the tach signal input. Once you do this reprogram the system to the new tach wire.

 Jeff,

connected to the tan wire coming off number 5 cylinder injector for tach and the remote start seems to work great,  but i have a new problem yesterday when i was testing the reserve mode remote start i had not yet installed the clutch by pass relay and was starting by holding the clutch down while sitting in the car, now reserve mode is getting canceled by something when i shut the motor down, the way it works is while engine is running and gear box is at N position i pull the park brake and pull the key out lights and siren chirp and flash i exit car and close door, engine is still on and led is flashing 3 then pause indicating reserve mode on, i hit lock/unlock as directed motor dies and when lights and siren sound i notice led changes to steady on/ off indicating reserve mode canceled, my trigger inputs include door pin switch, tach at fuel injector tan wire, brake pedal, and saftey neutral for hand brake,

another thing i notice is when the car is remote started the park lights flash on & off kind of like hazards but alot slower i don't care for this and would like to know if it could be changed to stay on,

and the alarm is in passive mode but i can't find any info on turning this off, the alarm will set by itself in about 30 seconds,

 thanks for any help,
