i realize that an atv is not a usual topic of discussion but it too is a 12 volt system....here is my question:
i want to install fog lights on my 2003 yamaha kodiak 450, and i want them to be controlled seperatly (on their own switch) i don't know what kind of charging system these atv's have and don't want to put too much of a draw on the battery, i also have a little trailer that came without any lights, i'm gonna install a brake light and side markers on it, all i'm gonna do is make a vehical trailer harness work the same on the quad as it does on a car, i'm really concerned that if it is a "points" type setup i might be in for a wack of trouble.
any ideas?
i figure that it has a winch on it and works off of the battery and there seems to be no problem, why would a little lighting be any different? exept that the lighting would be used all the time.
i could call the dealer but those guys just tell you to leave things as they are.
