I installed an Astra 777 last weekend, and it's working great except for the parking light output. This unit is supposed to flash the lights once when arming the system, and twice on disarming. The arming stage works correctly, but when I disarm the alarm the parking lights stay on solid for 30 seconds (as does the dome light.) I've bench tested it with all the other circuits disconnected, and I still get the positive output for 30 sec. on the parking light wire.
I grabbed the manual for Scytek's 7E7 model which is a slightly more advanced unit in the Astra line, and I noticed there is a programming option for "extended parking lights" that describes my 777's behavior exactly. This option in not listed in the 777 manual and I'm certain that I didn't get a 7E7 in a 777 box (the 7E7 is noticably different externally.)
I didn't get a chance to try setting the option yet (even though it shouldn't exist according to the manual,) but that's on the schedule for tomorrow. I suppose I could have received a 777 with a 7E7 PROM in it...
Can anybody confirm this behavior in the 777, and is there a workaround?

This is the way the 777 works, the manual has a misprint. The parklights stay on for 30 seconds on disarm to let you know that they disarmed so if you did it by accident you would notice and not leave your car unprotected. I am not sure if you can turn the feature off or not because my customers have always wanted it on.

You're correct about a misprint. The manual that shipped with my alarm only shows programming branches up to #18, but there are actually 21 branches (1 less than the 7E7.) I tried setting option 19 and it turned the extended parking lights feature off. By default it is on, but I don't really need 30 seconds of parking lights to tell me I've disarmed it.
After fixing my little problem I opened the 777 manual I downloaded from Scytek's site and saw that the programming section includes all 21 options. I wish I had done that soonerUnexpected parking light behavior -- posted image.
