I installed a Viper 791XV, including a 520T backup batterry... working fine for 3 months.

Tonight, wife left headlights on all afternoon, i didnt know this.

i go to get something out of the car, press the button, i get a very small chirp from peizo siren inside the car, lights barely flash.... At first i think something is wrong wityh the alarm, so i press the buttons again, and again, by this time, it is completely dead and i figure out both the car battery and backup batterry are dead...

So , i jump start the car, get everything up and running, take the car up the road and back... all is welll, almost... i get out of the car press the arm button.. NOTHING! I grab the second remote,... NOTHING!! I try for 45 minutes to "ADD" the two remotes to the system. It enters the programming sequence, but then exits after 15 seconds, and both remotes return no reponse from the system.

HELP, Please!

Hi there... Didint want to make anything worse so as soon as i realized the remotes werent working, i ran in and got the installers guide....

So the way i was attempting it was just Like the Book instructs.

-Open the Door, Turn ON the Car, Press the Valet Switch to the desired channel (press it once for default settings), Press and hold the valet switch, press lock button on the remote.

Nothing.... Also, I should say, when i installed the alarm 3 months ago i installed the second 2-way remote to it and have had no problems out of either remote until tonight, then tonight after the car battery and DEI batterry back up died, neither remote works...

Thanks for the help guys!

i am having this same problem

bought my 791 off a guy in cali, had my best buy certified installer friend install it for me.. it worked fine for about 6 weeks, then it stopped sending the commands to the remote.. it just beeps and shows the little antenna thing with no signal

so the guy i bought it off sends me a new brain and remote (nice guy!) and it's working fine.. then i left my ac/dc converter and laptop plugged into the car too long = dead battery.  i get the car jumped, and it does it again.  so now im sitting with no alarm or anything..  i can make the brain beep and go thru its programming mode, but it just doesnt want to talk to the remote.

any ideas?

MWJZ, JUST FIXED MINE!!! Seems all it needed was a good reset. I disconnected all the wires to the brain (i am guessing just killing main supply lines in would work too but i wanted to be sure) Left it disconnected for about 10 minutes, reconnected everything, pressed the lock button on the remote, and about the third hit, car arms and all works great.... Seems when the battery died it got a little confused.... Give it a try, hope it works!
