No installs on mazda 6 and RX8

A co-worker inquired at a local shop for a remote start. He has a 04 Mazda 6. They said Mazda sent a letter out stating to cease intalls on the 6 and RX8 due to overwhelming electrical problems from remote starts. I know that these vehicles have very sensitive electronics(computer controlled). I did a 04 Tribute a few months ago and have no problems with it. Could it it be just that shop(they had to go to the dealer and remove the unit on a car), or is this a 6 & rx8 problem? Anybody heard of this?

Ok, first and foremost, what manufacturer is going to send a letter to a shop telling them to stop working on there cars? The answer is no manufacturer. It is probably a single dealership sending a letter to some local shops trying to get out of not getting paid for warranty work. A manufacturer has no right to tell the customer that they cannot have aftermarket modifications done to there car. Don't forget that these are first generation cars and will have problems that the dealerships will try there hardest to blame on anyone but themselves. Oh yeah, never say never. The company that I work for has recieved letters from manufacturer's giving us tech information on there vehicles but never "don't work on our car's". They don't have the right to say that.Certified Security Specialist

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

I figured so! Maybe that shop screwed up a few of those cars that are under warranty and that The dealer is losing money on that.
