defective shock sensor?

im really not satisfied with the shock sensor....i'll have to bang on the frame next to the windshield til my fist turns red before it will finally go off, yes, the setting is at its highest and yes its on metal frame, do you guys think its defective? thanks

Take the sensor in your hand and tap it to see if it goes off, if it does the sensor is ok and just needs to be relocated.
