I was reading on the forum about how illuminated entry works and I understand it just fine.  My problem is that I don't think I have an out put on the alarm (Viper 771) that lasts 30-60 seconds when I disarm the car.  Is there any other way to do it?

To be honest...no.  I have been installing these Vipers for a while now but to tell the truth, I have no clue what the "dome light supervision" wire does.  It says that it is a 200ma output, but it didnt say for how long or anything.  So how does it work?

Ok, I got on Viper's website and read a bit about it.  I guess it just sends an output that can be used to trigger a relay to turn on the light when arming AND disarming the vehicle.  OK...I'll buy that.

My next question is this:  The Directechs sheet I pulled up for the car says that for "dome light supervision" I should use door triggers.  I understand what it wants me to do.  Its going to fool the car into thinking the door is open, in turn kicking the light on.  I understand how that works when I disarm the car.  But what about when I arm the car.  Viper's website said that it will turn the light on when arming and disarming...so if I arm the car and the doom light supervision wire sends a negative signal to the door trigger wire, isn't the alarm going to think the door is open and try to bypass this zone??  How long does the output from the doom light supervision last? (30 seconds? 60?).

Someone please help me understand!

Would I just program the alarm to turn off the bypass chirps for the door?  Then after the light went off, the alarm would start monitoring the door again?
