I just want everybody to know that this forum is a great resource! I had a problem with my Viper 790XV installed in my 2002 D-Cab Tacoma by Circuit City. When I programmed a second remote recently it wouldn't unlock the doors, you had to press unlock twice. I read the brain settings with a bit writer (I used to install part-time) and noticed that double pulse unlock was on.
Door would unlock with the original remote but not the second (new) remote. After using the forum search tools, it was obvious that Circuit City tapped the WRONG wire and programmed the brain to cover their error.
When I called circuit city to let them know they told me that they no longer sell Viper and I need to have Best Buy look at it. Best Buy told they will not look at anything that was not installed by them!!!!
In the end I fixed it myself, thanks to this forum!

Even if they do not sell it anymore, isnt it a lifetime warranty? especially on an install issue?

I would like to hear from other installers on this.

I would think an installer would be quicker to fix an install issue, i.e. something HE did wrong, versus an alarm issue, i.e. something DEI, Clifford, etc, did or built wrong.

I use to be an s&i manager and OmarR is correct they do have an install guarentee. It seems to be that they just blew spdracr off and didn't want to deal with him. When I started there we still had clifford and alpine alarms. then we dropped clifford. we still had to service them even though we didn't carry them any more. most of the times the unit was bad so we just had to def them out and put vipers in. what a pain. not to mention does best buy even have viper now I know cc just got back dei. just my 2 cents

yea, that's the problem, circuit city is a big corperation, so the kids there aren't worried about customer satisfaction, they just don't want work to do,,, they just feed someone a line to get them not to come in, just more reasons, to suport your local shop, haha
