Does anyone have an idea of the pintout or possibly a manual for the Astrflex\Astrostart 2100 series remote starter?  I am trying to add an electric trunk release to my wifes car  (1993 Olds 88 royale)  Threre seems to be a connector labeled P4 "Programmable" with three spade type terminals and a relay looking diagram next it.   Is this the correct connector on the astrostart box?  I have the trunk release installed and wires pulled up under the dash,  but I can't seem to get any connections to work.  I do hear what I think are relays switching when I hit the trunk release button, I can't tell if they are controlling the prgrammable terminals or some other set of terminals.  Any Ideas?

sorry for asking such a newb question and all, but does anyone happen to know this kind of info?  Seems like there are a lot of really knowledgeable people on here and I wouldn't ask, except for when I called my installer, my call was answered by his assistant\secretary, and she said he would call me back.   Eight hours later still no call.  Can't seem to find any info on the astroflex\astrostart on the web either, manufacturer seems to be pretty tight lipped with their instructions.

Anyways this seems like a great forum, I've been lurking around here lately and lots of great stuff.   Thanks.

the outputs on the P4 are the programable ones.... use the white wire on the P4, its default program setting is trunk....And yes...astro is very tight lipped about their product, and any instructions..... I'll be glad to help you all I can!

The trunk pop wir on your car should be black@ the switch...It's a POS(+) pulse, so you'll need to wire a relay for it

12 volts to 87 and 86, the trunk pop wire from the astro unit to pin 85 (the white one from P4) From pin 30 to the black trunk pop wire....

Check this wire with a meter first....it should read 12 volts when you hit the trunk button on the dash

Kartune,  Thanks so much for the reply, I think from what you telling me that the output from the Astro unit is a NEG(-) pulse and that I'll need the relay to be able to use that neg pulse to trigger the trunk relase which is a posiive pulse? (as per http://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/N2P.jpg )

also, another stupid question, which one of the terminals on the P4 is the output?  I don't have the astro unit in front on me right now, seems like there were three terminals on it?

Thanks for your assistance so for, At least I now have an idea of how to start this!

The P4 is the "main" power input-output conector. It also has the parking light wire on it. It has 7 pins

I miss typed on my first post....the P2 is the one you use for the trunk....pin #15   It has 16 pins

The P3 is for the door locks, it has 6 pins.

SORRY about the confusion   YES the velocity motor sports diagram is  perfect...

KarTuneMan,
You hit the nail on the head, pin 15 was the right one. Turns out I was looking a P5 instead of P2, Once I tied into pin 15 on P2, everthing worked. I even added a switch in the glovebox since the astrostart won't trip the trunk release once the engine is running. Works great so far. Couldn't have done it without you and this site. You guys know your stuff, and kudos to you for sharing your wisdom.
