I've got the 508D Dual Zone Proximity Sensor for my Sidewinder 6000ESP.  It has 2 screws for adjustment of the zones, then a Factory Adjustment screw.  What does it the Fact. Adj. do?  I'm asking because I don't like the sensitivity of the sensor.  I've got the Zones dialed in perfectly.  But the smallest movement triggers the warning zone.  I'm not totally sure, but I believe the fog was triggering it this morning.  So I don't want to adjust the size of the zones, just the sensitivity of them.  Thanks.

the fact. adjusting screw is adjusted from the factory, dont mess with it. as far as the sensor not working the way you like..... i think your gonna be S.O.L. those sensors never work right, sometimes right out of the box they never work right.... i refuse to even sell, let alone install those in customers cars.

Really? That sucks.............I was planning on getting this for my new Viper790xv. Do you know from experience that these sensors never work right? I was thinking it would be cool if you have the 516U voice mod and the 508D field disturbance mod and if someone comes too close to your car it gives them a voice warning.

Well I have one in my personal car and it works great, The problem is that people always have them too sensitive!!! Don't put it so sensitive and you will not have any problems with it... DO NOT ADJUST FACTORY SETTING!! if you adjust that then it really will never work right!!!!!!  Good luck.....DEI Dual Proxy Factory Adjustment -- posted image.

As long as you don't have a ton of storms in your area... you should be fine.  And even then, your alarm should deactivate the warn after it is set off enough times.  I've got it set to go off if anyone gets about 1-2 feet away from it.  It's fun when I'm walking out of the mall and I see someone walk by and start looking at my car.  They are wondering what the heck is going on.  By it at a Good Guys or a place that gives you 60-day money back guarantee.  If you don't like it, just take it back.

Hmm if it works fine, then I think it would definitely be a cool thing to have. Especially when people walk by and get too close to the car and it starts talking saying stand back, Viper protected! lol.............does anyone else has any feedback/experience with this? Would you reccomend it? How much did you buy it for? I've seen it online for $40.

Thanks.

Hey Ghetto,

Have you ever heard or seen the ones where you can record your own voice and say whatever you like? I have seen them for around the same price as the talking viper. They are pretty neat.

I hate it when I hit reply and it loses what I typed....  DEI part 508D.  Dual Zone proximity sensor.  I paid $50 at Good Guys.  In fact, I got my whole alarm there, and got it without the install.  One of the other local shops wants a copy of my receipt.  Apparently they are under contract, they aren't supposed to sell the alarms without installation.

Sound Pressure,

Yeah, I was thinking about getting that, 516L. But where can you get it that cheap?
