I am getting ready to install a Viper 790XV in my 2002 Mustang GT and was looking over the manual since I have never installed a car alarm before. I had a few questions on the door locks. Basically the manual for the door lock installation procedure refers me to Document No. 1041 which it seems is only available to techs so there isnt much of a description on how to hook it up. I was wondering if I need to use some type of relay to get the door locks to work or do I just attach them to the current power lock/power unlock wires? Also I noticed on the wiring chart that there is power lock/unlock and lock motor/unlock motor. Would I tap into the motor or the power lock/unlock?

Also, the manual says that the green wire for my alarm is (-) lock, (+) unlock output, and the blue is (-) unlock, (+) lock output. What exactly does this mean in terms of hooking up the locks?

Sorry if these are really stupid questions, but as I said, I have never done this before..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kyle

Thanks for the info. Now when it says low in kickpanel does that mean it can be found at a harness low in the kick panel or its just a wire running there.. I got in my car today and tried to scout out the different wires in the chart above and was not able to 100% sure locate the power lock/unlock. When I look at the kickpanel area I see three major plugs with two containg 16 pins and one containg 8 pins. They are pretty much in a straight row.. Anyone know which it is in? There also seems to be quite a few what I would say lt greens.

Thanks again for the help so far.

Kyle
