Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and I woud greatly appreciate any help I can find. I'm installing a DEI 265b remote start/keyless entry system on a 2004 Freestar. So far, everything works as long as the key is in the ignition. The problem is when I try to program the 556s, it won't work more than one time and then starts flashing the security light. As far as I can tell, everything is hooked up correctly.
To program it, all I have tried is the thing with turning the key to run, waiting on the light to go out, doing the same with a 2nd key, removing the key, and then remote starting it. This works fine the first time, and then it is as if the module doesn't remember the correct code.
Any ideas??? (HELP)

I use the OMEGA IB-PKF-3  No Key Required
But:
Be sure you have constant 12 volts to RED wire on 556s......
Also don't wait to long between keys & RS when programming

Thanks for the info, I'll have to double check the connections (again). The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the two keys are interfering with one another during programming. They aren't really that close to one another, maybe 3 or 4 feet, but I can't think of anything else. Has anyone else had this problem???

I just thought of another thing. The guy that I am installing this for lost one of his original keys and had to go to the dealer to get another one. I'm not sure how they programmed the new key, but would this cause any problems?

Do all of the keys he has start the vehicle properly? If so.... no problemo. Check your pellet position. You will have to experiment greatly with placement.

Thanks for the help Gus, I moved the antenna ring about a quarter of an inch closer to the key and everything works fine!
