Hey everyone, I installed a Python 1400XP on my 94 F-250 and bought a DEI alarm instead of using the horn. The problem is that the 6 tone siren needs constant power, not the pulsed for honking the horn. What would I need to make this to a constant power? I have a bunch of relays so that is not a problem. I also am going to run a relay off of that constant power to drive some strobes I installed. Thanks for the help!

To the forum moderators, I tried registering with my e-mail, firecraker568@comcast.net, and it said that I was already a member, I don't remember when I suscribed or what my user name was, could you shoot me my username so I don't have to use this user name and e-mail. Thanks!

most DEI alarms have an option to change the siren output - either constant or pulsed. you need a few things.

1) know where the valet switch is and how to enter programming mode

2) after you enter programming mode via the valet switch, you need to have the owners manual so that you know where to navigate in programming mode to change this option.

i have a viper 791XV and its easy as pie to change between constant and pulsed siren output, as long as you know how to enter programming mode and where to go once ya do Need Alarm Siren Pulse to Constant -- posted image.

good luck!

wow, how can an aftermarket alarm NOT have a constant siren output?? is this an alarm or just a remote start with keyless entry? or, was this an alarm specifically made to tap into your factory horn?

im wondering why it didnt come with a siren, and why it doesnt have a constant siren output. i googled "python 1400xp" and came across a site, but it doesnt say anything about a siren coming with it. actually, the site is very vague... i saw the 1600xp and it says "remote start/security/keyless entry"... but under 1400xp it just says "remote start/keyless entry". this leads me to believe that this device has NO siren output, because it isnt even an alarm.

can anybody confirm this?

the 1400 is remote start keyless entry, the 1600 is the alarm/remote start.
