I haven't done windows myself on a Highlander.
But what they mean by datalink is basically this: There are no window motor wires running throughout the car. Each power window switch also serves as a computer of sorts.
If you sit in the driver's seat, and push the button to roll one of the back windows down........ all that is happening is that your switch, through a data wire, commands the other door to roll its window down......so you're not going to find motor wires inside the car.

So what your saying is that it will not work if I connect the window roll module to the cables on the main switch ? I wiil have to make extensions for each cable to get to each motor ? That sucks

Still a little confused. There are 2 wires that go into each motor,in this case one to the up wire(red)to each motor no problem there and the other to the switch of the window on the door, thats where I qet stuck...what wire on the switch ? There are several wires at each switch. Here is the module diagram if it helps. This is for the 4 window up function.
