I own a Citroen ZX 1.4ltr, this has an inbuilt central locking and code immobiliser, i bought this vehicle from a salvage yard and am trying to repair it and bring it back to the road. I have two problems:

1- when i lock the vehicle, the indicator lights are meant to flash, but they do not

2- the alarm is supposed to arm, but does not...i cannot find the alarm on the vehicle anywhere (i do know it has one because it went off when we bought it). can anyone help me with this problem and also tell me where the alarm would be based? thanks...rich UK

is it a factory or aftermarket....aftermarket it maybe up in the hush panel around steering colum

Where theres is a wire there's a way.

can't find anything only that the CDL unot is under handbrake and if it has airbag the the airbag ECU is there and CDL is beside steering column

I do believe it is a factory fitted alarm, it has an airbag and also coded immobiliser. you say maybe by the handbrake, is there any particular panel i would have to take off to find this out? I cannot find the alarm siren either. This is now confusing me! thanks for ur replies so far...rich

can you sound the alarm fr a few secs point you the siren. or it could be on the horn..

is there a zx owners forum they usally know them cars inside out.

Is there a pod above the rear view mirror which is red in color? it could be the alarm

yes i have had a look there, and from what i remember there was a red pod there...thanks very much i shall investigate further..rich
