I know this happens to alot of cars because I see it all the time. On my 97 Ford escort my right trun signal blinks twice as fas as it should. Does any one know why this happens and if it is fixable? It is kind of embarrassing turning left when your turn signal is spazing out.

Have you checked the bulbs in you turn signals?  Most cars the turn signals start flashing really fast when one or more of the bulbs has gone bad.

It has been my experience that too much load makes them flash faster- a burned out bulb will lessen the load- usuaaly make signals not flash at all- wheras a bulb that has the wrong resistance, an extra bulb, the wrong part number bulb will all create more resistance, or more load and cause the flasher to heat up faster, thus the rapid flashing rate-- check to see if someone has installed a bulb wrong, or the wrong part number bulb- in any of the sockets-  also this is why in the old days- when you hooked up a trailer- you always needed the "heavy -duty" flasher that kept the bulbs flashing normally....just my thoughts........

newer vehicles (90 and up let's say) use electronic flashers, and when they sense a lower load, they are designed flash quicker to indicate a fault in the system (IE bulb out).
the older vehicle would just come on solid with the old style mechanical flashers

I got out  and walked around the car. all the bulbs work. I bought the car off an old lady who use to tow it behind an RV. then I recently hooked up an alarm to it. When I hooked the alarm to the paarking lights, I used the pre-existing wires from when it was being towed. I think that might have some thing to do with it. I will check it out more closely this weekend, if it does not snow to bad.
