I have recently bought a 4 channel remote system. I am trying to hook it up to be keyless entry on a 1997 sunfire. the car all ready has power locks. the system has 2 wires for each channel, but the box says that it has no polarity. I have hooked it up so that one channel's wires is on a chassis ground and the other is to the lock and the second channel's wires are on chassis ground and the other is on the unlock.  when I hit the remote I can hear the relays in the unit click but there is no power getting to the channels I have used a test light on every wire. here is a really crappy diagram of the way I have it hooked up. I hope someone can help me figure this out. thanks4 channel remote system, no polarity -- posted image.

Don't know Brand of 4 Channel unit, but if you hear Relays inside unit......Have you metered if any wire has Output??  There should be a COMMON for each Channel

Also, are you using Relays for the Sunfire & how did you wire them??

97 Sunfire:

Without OEM Keyless Door Lock Wires MUST Be Tested From PASSENGER Switch!!
W/O OEM Keyless ..........Reversal Rest At Ground Door Locks.
With OEM Keyless ........Positive Pulse Door Locks

the unit that I have is a genaric one from "princess auto".  i have metered each of the output leads and there is no power on any of them.  I have not touched any of the relays in the car, i just hooked to lock positive on channel 1 and unlock positive on channel 2. I have done this from removing the passenger side kick panel and metering the wires going into the door while I used the locks. ........ my thinking is that I should be able to splice into those wires and by sending power to them I will activate the power locks one way or another... Am I wrong about this?... Oh by the way thank you for replying. I am trying to hook  this up for my Girlfriend so that she doesn't have to worry about using her keys during the winter. Canadian winters gotta love them!

thanks alot
