I have a 1998 Honda Accord with a Manual Transmisson.
I would like to have a remote-start/alarm system installed that has a 2-way remote that shows the temperature inside the car. I know these exist for cars with automatic transmissions, but have yet to find for a manual.
I have checked out Aladdin, DEI (Clifford, Viper), AutoStart, UltraStart and Crimestopper, and haven't found what I need. I may just have missed it, or so I hope.
Can any of you experts help?
thanks,
tate

I only of know of one product. Not that familar about the reliability of the product (I have only sold one).  But it has alot of interesting features. It has interior temp display via the lcd transmitter.  It can be programmed to start at specified temps. If want more info on it,  e-mail me.

My response from Marksman:
Dear Tate,
In regards to your question on our Marksman alarms. I have the same vehicle. The M10 will work, but I would not advise to hook up the remote start feature of this alarm. The alarm can operate like a normal alarm, but just not will the remote start feature. I do not have any dealers in your particular area. If there is a bigger city near you please email me that information and I will try to find you a retailer to assist you. Thank you for your interest in Marksman products.
Sincerely,
Lori Jones

Sounds like no "manual mode". Though I did reply and explain "manual mode" (parking brake, push button, pull key, lock doors, remote shut off, "ready mode").
Thanks for the replies to date. Anyone else have any information...

I found this:  They left out the model number for the manual transmission model, but I assume it is the Ultrastart 4500M.  http://xlelectronics.com/store/enter.html?target=Auto_SecurityAlarm_Systems.html . You have to scroll down about half way.  It sure is Spendy though, and the temerature sensor is optional at that. But Hey! Free shipping!, They should just say that shipping is not an additional charge to this inflated price.

Hey guys,
The AutoPage RS-750LCD is identical to the Marksman M-10 and it comes with the temp sensor, tap page, dual stage shock for less than $200 from multiple places.
Just FYI,

From what I have seen and heard from other people on this site, the AutoPage is not the most installer friendly as well as there are some glitches in the programming of the unit. This is my 2c's about this unit from what I have heard.

I believe that the UltraStart doesn't actually display the temperature on the remote. I am waiting for a response to an email I sent them.

Jeff,
Didn't mean to steer Deckard down the wrong path, I had read on this site that the Marksman M10 & Autopage RS-750LCD where identical, do they contain different firmware (i.e. programming)? Also I had looked through this site and found a few disparaging remarks about the Autopage, but attributed them to installation issues, remote range, etc. I am installing an Autopage next week and have been trying to find all of the pitfalls and problems I might encounter, if you could provide any information or some links to issues with the RS-750LCD unit it would help alot.
As for the Ultrastart, I was looking at that also, I don't think it displays temp, but the flip open LCD cover is way cool. I emailed 4 different Ultrastart sources including the MFG site and none of them responded so I'd like to know what you find out Deckard, if you get a chance to post the info.
