IGood Morning All,

I am installing a R/S (DEI Valet 561R) in a buddy's 05 Altima. It has the Transponder key and I am inquiring if the 555F will work. It is a pain to have to use a key and then recode the new and old (Why Nissan requires a wipe and recode instead of encoding the new key like Chysler does is beyond me).

I heard that there (555F) is a chip and does not require a key (key 25.00, encoding another 95.00 @ dealer = 120.00 extra). Online it states Ford and two other manafactures but does not specify Nissan.

Has anyone used this sucessfully and any info on how it work (I.E. pain or painless) would be greatly appreaciated. I would rather have her spend 40.00 than 120.00.

Thanks,

Tampa77

Is there another module available that does not require a key ?

I surfed the net and found some (No name brands) but I am wary about them. Otherwise off to the dealer I go...

Thanks,
