Maybe someone has a quick fix to my problem. . .

80% of the remote starts my shop installs are the DEI 551R which only comes with one remote. I always hook the factory remotes up via the lock motor wire with a relay to the neg. trigger for the remote start. This also allows the interior lock switch to trigger the remote start. . . useful to some. . . . but others with kids and garages don't like the idea so much. Any ideas on what to do to let the factory remotes trigger the remote start without the interior doing it too??

If it's merely for a parked car in a garage, presumably left unlocked. You could use the parking brake wire to trigger a relay breaking the connection from the lock switch. Although not a very usefull safety feature if kids are left in the vehicle. But make your lock and remote start trigger connections after pin 30.

85 = (-) from parking brake

86 = 12v fused

87 = no connection

87a = lock switch side

30 = lock car side

Well, you can hook up a push button to the WHITE/ blue without using relay and the other side to ground.  And keep the remotes away from Kids.  You should tell your customers that it's not a good idea to remote start in a garage.

My ultimate goal is to let the customer have more than one remote with a 551R. I know all of the disclaimers to tell them. I just want to trigger the remote start with the factore remote but not the door lock switch, has anyone been able to do this???
