I typically don't open the lids on remote start brain boxes- but after last night.....  I spent over an hour wondering why my '99 Cavalier with Crimestopper RS 900VII would start with remote about half the time-  I was nearly done with the install- all wires soldered and neatly bound- I absolutely refused to tear up and recheck my connections- I knew they were okay.  The bypass was straight forward- and I dialed in the resistance exactly- using a GMATIII- the bulb check was working during crank- so what was wrong?  When it started and ran all was fine- keep going- but when I would double check- try it again- it would start and stop - the theft light would remain on- so I knew the bypass was goofy.  Come to find out, that the 2nd "ignition" wire out of the remote that I used to power the bypass was actually a 2nd "accessory"- the default is supposed to be a second ignition as have been all the other units I have used and is what the install manual describes- The theft system needs to see the resistance during crank as well- the accessory drops out during crank- when I saw this I could not open that lid fast enough--so from now on I guess I need to check the positions of the jumpers when I receive the units.  Somebody was asleep at the factory!!  Cost me some hair and an hour...but boy do you learn...
