Need to do:
- car1: turn on/off engine pre-heater (diesel)
- car2: remote start
- really good range: 500-ft or more
car1 function requires a 200mA continous feed (+/-) while on and disconnected while off.
I assumed I would need two systems with two remotes but I now see that one remote can handle both cars. Ideally I would like a 3-button remote:
   - button1: car1 function
   - button2: future function, possibly same as button1
   - button3: car2 function
If anyone can recommend any systems I'd appreciate it. Looks like the Viper 130XV for car2 will work and it is a 3-button system. While I think I can go with another for car1 and not use the remote start features I would like to get something simpler (keyless lock) for my needs. However, I do not think the range of a keyless entry compares to what I need, as in the remote start units.
Right now I went with an Omega Research REC43T but its range is pathetic. I am only using one channel on this for car1 function. It was cheap but I practically have to be right next to the car to work it.

OMEGA...... MARS 22 or AL2000E

Also you could just use a programmable week / Month Timer for your Diesel

Thanks, I'll look into these. I can't seem to find a range spec on the MARS22.
The diesel preheater is an Eberspacher (German). They offer a 2-way remote for $250-$300 but that's too much for me. That's why the REC43T was used - cost $20.
I don't want to use the timer since I do not use the truck every day. The on-demand remote is ideal.

I need latched outputs on buttons 1 and 2: press once latch, press again return to off. Not latched while pressed. It appears none of those suggested do this.
Unless I can add a relay or something to go from pulse to latched and pulse to off again?
