had a recent problem with the "after-market" ungo 6200 car alarm on my 1990 dodge truck.  remote would not open door when pressed.  ended up opening manually, setting off alarm.  had to disengage the override switch in order to turn the alarm siren off.  since then, have replaced battery in remote, but override switch no longer works.  should the switch normally be in an open or closed position?  if it does not work, does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be?  alarm works fine except for this override switch.  alarm was installed right after i purchased the truck.  thanks

most alarms use a norm open switch...but they are protected by the ign.  the ign must be on before pressing.  and some models are time sensitive....you only have a few seconds from when the ign is turned until the button is pressed.
