I am looking for some help on the connection of my Python 1400 remote start in a 05 F-150 XLT ext cab. I was looking to pick up the unlock/lock wires in the drivers foot panel where I picked up most everything else. According to the wire diagram it should be pink / YELLOW for lock and pink /green for unlock. I found these 2 wires in the green connector behind the e brake but when I operate the python I hear it click and the parking lights flash but no actuation of the locks. Are these the 2 correct wires? they are not on the pins that the diagram said they would be but they could be refering to another connector,I figure there should only be 1 wire of that color anyway.  Anyone who has done one of these trucks and can help me out would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Vic

I did pick them up there (the right colors anyway) but they did not work.

stip off the insulation and ground one of the wires... it will either lock or unlock.. then do the same to the other wire youll hear the actuator lock.. if it does that by grounding the wires, then you arn't sending a pulse from your keyless.. If I remember right there are a couple that are the same colors in ha harness... should be small awg 20 or something like that... they are there though

I would advise using a multi meter when testing, if you start grounding wires you might be in for a bad suprise....

I have tested the wires with a digital meter and when sitting idle there is no voltage on them to ground and when the door lock switch is pressed there is no change in state. I guess I have the wrong wires even though they are the right colors . Anyone with the right connections would be appreciated, I know this should be pretty easy not sure what I am missing

Trust me they are there... as long as the truck has keyless... you can also pop the lock switch module and should see the wires... I just did one yesterday... 20awag pnk/yel & pnk/ green

They are smaller gauge(20) like hymer said, you can also grab them in the harness that runs to the rear of the truck as I believe the bcm is mounted in the back.

Here's how I do those trucks:
--Open the driver's door wide. Jam your left knee to hold the door open, for safety, so a gust of wind or a person passing by won't slam the door on your hand.
--Unsnap the rubber boot where the wires go from the door into the truck's body. As long as it's not too cold out, the rubber boot will be supple and easy to unsnap.
--Shove the rubber boot as far as you can into the driver's door, exposing the wires.
--Run your lock & unlock wires into the doorjamb, TEST and make your connections, then reattach the rubber boot into place.
