Im about to install this new remote starter in my manual transmission car and was just wondering if I have to bypass the clutch? I see there is a relay included, but im not sure if thats what bypasses or if I have to add another one.

I have a Toyota camry 1993

If the Camry has cruise control, there will be two switches on the clutch. One for the start and one for the shifting of gears/cruise control. Find the one that has two wires that change polarity with the clutch depressed and ignition switch cranking. Not sure what polarity it is but in any case, you will need to use the STATUS output wire ( BLACK ) from the Compustar to either trigger a relay ( if + trigger ) or directly connect the BLACK wire to the clutch wire if it's a (-) trigger.

OK i will check it out. Also the relay has a yellow and a yellow/black wire. Do i cut the starter wire and use the yellow/ black to the starter side of it and teh yellow to the key side of it ?

Thanks, i found the switch! There is cruise but there is only one button. I tested one pin to the ground, it was grounded, i tested the second pin to teh ground, it was only grounded when the button was pressed, so i will conect the STATUS to thispin.

It's the opposite of what you listed.

Ok i got the starter installed and it works great. There isonly one problem and i cant seem to figure it out. Maybe the unit has a defect.

When i set the "reservation" mode and leave the car, then shut the door, the car stops and is now in reservatoin mode. Problem is my headlights only turn off if the cars off then the door is open. I need to send a 12v pulse when the car is stopped to the door trigger wire, thats not the problem.

The problem is the manual is telling me to use the Rearm wire (orange) it will send a (-) pulse for 1 second when the starter is shuts down. Im using a relay and have the 12v going to it, but the orange wire doesnt seem to be grounding at all.

Can you shed some light on this for me ?

Here's the first problem you have. If you pulse the door trigger after it's set into ready mode, the system will think that you opened the door and this will cancel ready mode. You will need to cut the door trigger wire in half and add two diodes & then you can pulse the car side of the cut door trigger wire.
