06 Caravan, turn signals lights

I installed a crimestopper 1301 in this 06 Caravan. Used the WHITE/ brown at the switch for the parklights. Used positive from the remote through a 2000 ohm resistor. The lights work, but the customer called back and said all of a sudden her turn signal in the reat does not work. I checked it and was a blown bulb. Replaced that then it blew again. Is there a chace something is back feeding or something. Maybe use a diode to isolate it.. Any ideas..or anyone run into the same problem???

I have not ecounter the issue you mention above, but as a rule of thumb I always remind myself to put a diode to the negative side of parking lights when ever I am using it. From experience it seem that I have encounter a lot more odd behaviour using the negative parking light. The feedback is often related to tapping into the BCM for your connections. Try it and post your result.     "DODGE, CARAVAN, 2006, Parking Lights- The parking lights are negative trigger thru a 2.1K ohm resistor. There is a rest resistance on the wire, so MUST use a relay to isolate away from the switch. See DirectFax document 1082 for wiring information." Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

for positive parking lights in the 2006 Caravan, go to the driver kick panel. The brake lights are also down there. The park lights are WHITE/ brown and the brake lights are WHITE/ tan. You will have much better luck using the positive parking light in the kick panel. You wont need any resistors or diodes, just a straight positive pulse for parking lights.   Shaun, we are the same height, that is neat!

I have never seen anyone using the positive parklight wire. One tech sheet I have says not to... Works ok?? I will also try adding a diode in between the switch and the output wire of the starter. Since this in Neg. trigger, the band on the diode shoulb face away from the switch right???? Any other ideas?? Thanks       Ziggy

Well, you can use any wire you want to, but being an employee at a Chrysler dealership and I do at least one of these vans a day, the positive parking light wire is easiest. no diodes, relays, or resistors! Just curious, which tech sheet said not to use it? Where did it list that wire?Shaun, we are the same height, that is neat!
