I am trying to install an Autopage RS-750 LCD on a 1997 GMC Yukon.

I would like to "two stage" unlock the doors, just like they do now with the factory remote.  First push of the unlock button gets the driver's door, second push gets the passenger's door (actually is actuates both).

I have located a relay with 6 wires entering it.  One is 12V constant, one is ground.  On either side of these are two wires.  When I pulse one wire with 12Vs, it unlocks all the doors... With the DMM, when I push unlock twice, this wire jumps to around 12V.  There is another wire next to this one that also jumps to 12V when I push unlock twice, however, when I try to pulse it, it sparks and the doors don't do anything (no fuses blow either). I only tried that once.  Does this mean that it is a negative pulse that triggers the second unlock (to the passenger's door) via the second wire I mentioned? How do I test this?

The same is true for the lock cycle on this relay.  When I hit lock, both wires jump to 12V.  One wire locks the doors when pulsed, the other sparks while doing nothing.  I assume this is the same setup as the Unlock scenario.  How do I trigger this relay to lock all the doors?

Also, for those of you familiar with the Autopage 750LCD, do I use the "pink" second stage wire as a trigger for the passenger's unlock, or what?

I thought I had things figured out, but I have no idea now... Obviously.

Any help would be awesome.

Final note, where do I find the dang brake wire for the positive safety switch?  Or do I just need to tie into a brakelight wire?

Thanks a Million,

--Jeff J.

All the information is listed below. For priority unlock use the motor wire for the 1st unlock and then use the unlock wire for the remainder of the doors.

Do I still need to use relays for the doors?  How will the remote open the doors with this setup?  Will it require using two buttons or pressing unlock twice?

Thanks for the chart and your advice!

Is your Yukon a 4 door or 2 door ? Does the RS750 have a designated wire for a priority door unlock system ? If it does, then make sure that the 1st unlock pulse is a (+) one and this goes to the TAN unlock motor wire. With the second unlock make sure that it is a (+) trigger pulse and it will go to the WHITE wire. If this wire is not a (+) pulse then you will need a relay to convert the polarity to a (+)

The 750LCD does have a "2 steps unlock output wire" --> Polarity Negative, 200mA.

As described in my first post...

I have located a relay with 6 wires entering it.  One is 12V constant, one is ground.  On either side of these are two wires.  When I pulse one wire with 12Vs, it unlocks all the doors... With the DMM, when I push unlock twice, this wire jumps to around 12V (there is no voltage increase when I press the unlock button once).  There is another wire next to this one that also jumps to 12V when I push unlock twice, however, when I try to pulse it (12V), it sparks and the doors don't do anything (no fuses blow either). I only tried that once.  Does this mean that it is a negative pulse that triggers the second unlock (to the passenger's door) via the second wire I mentioned? How do I test this?

The same is true for the lock cycle on this relay.  There are two other wires (for a total of six now).  When I hit lock, both wires jump to 12V.  One wire locks the doors when pulsed, the other sparks when pulsed and does nothing.  I assume this is the same setup as the Unlock scenario.  How do I trigger this relay to lock all the doors?  Do you think it requires a negative pulse?  How do I test this one?

I am thinking that these "sparking" wires get a negative pulse, but I can't tell.

Oh and my Yukon is a 1997 2door 4WD.

Thanks Again,

--Jeff

You can go to that relay bank for all lock and all unlock but not for driver unlock.  You will need to use 2 relays to convert your second pulse unlock and lock to + from the - output of your alarm.  You can get these right at that relay you have been talking about.

As for the driver door unlock only.  You will need to find the tan wire that goes into the driver door.  It will test +12 when you press unlock at any switch.  You need to cut that wire put a relay inline (30 to motor side, 87a to other side and 87 to +12v)  This is the ONLY way to do a priority unlock.

The factory priority unlock is not done at those relays.  It is done after at the keyless module.  The tan wire comes out of the relay and split into two. One wire goes to the passenger door motor and the other goes into the keyless entry module.  The keyless module is essentially configured the way I told you to hook up the extra relay.  There is no way to tap into the keyless to get the driver unlock so you must put a relay in series.

And no you can not just use a relay and provide +12 to that wire.  You need cut it and put a relay in series because the wire rests at ground.
