Hey guys I got a brand new audiovox pursuit 9232 keyless entry upgrade alarm for free from a relative of mine and i just installed it myself in my 06 rsx type s. my question is when you arm and disarm the alarm it uses the factory horn for the chirp. i want it to come from the siren that i installed. the siren is connected perfectly as when the alarm is triggered either by the shock sensor or the door trigger the siren goes off perfectly together with the horn. I looked through all the instruction manual and it does not discuss this. If i turn off the confirmation chirp it just doesnt honk the horn and there is no confirmation at all. If I disconnect the horn then it wont really help my prob cause then i wont have any activation deactivation chirp at all. So again can anyone help me get the alarm siren to chirp on arm and disarm.thanx

Huh, there are no other settings for horn or siren on the 9232a, unlike all the other Pursuit alarms that have a programmable output for it. Your saying that is you key on, key off, hit the valet 3 times the siren doesn't come on?

Isn't there an option in the programming menu that allows you to choose horn, siren, or both horn/siren together?
And you're saying that when you lock and unlock, you want to hear only the siren chirp, and not the horn, right?
Just go into that menu, and set it for "siren."
But don't worry---when the alarm is actually triggered, you'll still get the horn and siren together.

Let me go see if I have one of those in my car. I am pretty sure that's a programming option but I'll go check.

Hey sorry about that; you're right. All the other Audiovox stuff lets you deactivate one thing or the other, separately.
But anyway, exactly what is happening right now?
When you lock the car with the facory remote, you get 1 horn honk...........when you unlock, you get 2 horn honks..........but you never hear the siren unless the alarm is triggered?
Is that how it is now?

In the Audiovox Pursuit 9232 there is no way to program/select between the HORN or SIREN for the chirp confirmation.

So the only things that come to my mind is the following: do the siren you use on your instalation was part of the alarm or you purshased separately.  Could it be posible that the siren is the problem and it does not respond to the short chirp pulses from the alarm brain?

Maybe you can test with a volmeter to see if there are chirp pulses on the wire that goes to the siren.

I do not think there is anything wrong with the siren cause it goes off real loud when the alarm is triggered. All i want is to hear the chirps from the siren not the horn when i am arming and disarming

When you enter in the program mode, do you hear the siren chirps?
