magnetic switch

let's see...with the magnet engaged/ in proximity to the switch, are the contacts to the switch open or closed?

if closed, you'll need to place the switches in series, one end of the string to ground, the other to the positive trigger input.  also on the positive trigger input, add a 4700 ohm resistor to 12volts constant.

if open, you can wire the switches in parallel.  one side to ground, the other to the negative trigger input ( hood/ trunk )

Whats the application?  How are the switches going to be interfaced?

The short answer is one side of the magnetic switch will go to ground (or power, depending on your application) and the other wire will go to your alarm (input depends on what you are trying to acomplish).

Basically, one wire is "Pin 30" of a relay and the other is Pin 87 (or 87A depending on what kind of switch it has).  Of course your magnetic switch most likely isn't high current. like a relay.
