I've been looking around to put a remotestart in my car and decided i want to install an avistart 4300 in a 2005 ford explorer.  i would ultimatley like to be able to remote start (obviously), lock/unlock doors, open rear hatch window(factory system already has this option), bypas the pats system, and maybe roll up the winows when i arm if i get really ambitious.  I've looked at alot of the avistart install manuals, and their refrences to bypassing pats is quite old.  I would greatly appreciate it if someone could let me know what additional parts i would need and point me to any resources.

Thanks for all your help

You will need a special unit to bypass the PATS, like PKU-F2. And you do NOT need to give up a key. check ebay, they're pretty cheap and programming is dummy-proof.
Thats all you need to get your KE/RS/security installed. Other accessories like you described will required some relays and maybe diodes.
