I am installing a remote starter and keyless entry on a 2000 accord with the factory alarm. All the information I have searched for on here refers to a blue wire in the dirvers door to disarm factory system. All the wires that are blue in the drivers door are blue with silver dots or blue/white with dots. There is a blue and white wire coming off the key switch, is this the wire I need to tap into to disarm the factory system to remote start the vehicle?

If you look at the driver's kick from where the blue wire is coming from, you will not find it bc it switches the color code to another one.
You are requried to run a single wire into the door behind the panel. Follow the three wires coming from the key cylinder.

In the PASS fuse box find orange(with 2 silver dots) to unlock/disarm, and BLACK/ blue to lock and arm.

Large green plug on the top of the fuse box!

What model is it? EX, LX? It does matter on this car.

It is the EX model. Another problem I have found is one site has this vehicle with Ign. 1 and 3 and one site with this vehicle with 2 accessory wires. both sites list the second wire as the same color. I am not sure which one it is.

The wiring charts are only a guide. Always test your wires, and then you will know what is what.
The Accord has only one ignition wire, and two accessory wires. The second accessory wire powers the radio......if you prefer the radio remain off during remote start, don't connect it.
Running wires indo the driver's door is mostly unnecessary, depending on what type of remote starter you're installing.
You can connect your remote starter's factory-alarm-disarm output to the unlock wire in the passenger's fuse box............ connect a pulse-after-start wire (if your RS has one) to the lock wire on the car.......................basically, the car will unlock, remote start, and then re-lock.......much easier than going into the door.

If you do chose to go into the door, the disarm is a blue wire that is in the harness that plugs into the main switch on the door. I believe it is the power window harness. To test the wire, place you ground of your meter on a sutable ground, then pobe the blue wire. You should see 12v+ on this wire at rest (make sure the harness is plugged into the switch) When you turn the key in the driver's door lock to unlock the car, the wire will go to a (-) ground.

Silver dots on a wire are usually indicators that the wire is mostly insulation and the actuall wire may be smaller than you think.

The lesson, never just go off of a tech sheet. Always test your wires first. The tech sheets are helpful in finding wires in a car, but are not always right.

One more problem that I have encountered is that with the remote starter connected and every thing is functioning right with the remote starter it has set off the check engine light and caused the D4 on the dash to flash. I pulled the code and it gave me transmission failure. Had a mechanic look it over along with the dealer as it is still under a factory warranty. I disconnected the remote starter from under the dash and reset the c.e.l. and the problem went away. Has anyone here experienced this problem before. Thanks for the help

NOTE *1 IF DOING A STARTER KILL YOU MUST INTERRUPT THE WIRE BETWEEN THE KEYSWITCH AND THE FUSEBOX, NOT BETWEEN THE FUSEBOX AND THE STARTER,TO KEEP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FROM COMING ON.

Oh, and just test those three wires coming off the key cylinder in the driver's door to see which one goes to ground when the key unlocks the driver's lock from the outside --- setup up a relay with a SOLID ground to your disarm (-) wire and you can then remote start without having to unlock the doors, then remote/start, then relock the doors.  The (-) 250-500mA that comes off a typical remote start brain for disarm is usually not enough for the Honda factory alarm to be disarmed.
